16.3.1 Connecting the Strap
A strap is typically a wire that connects the ends of a good pair to a wire on the faulty pair. The strap should
be made of 18AWG (1.0 mm) and be very short because it will have a very low resistance and will not affect
the measurement. Alternatively, the same gauge of cable can be used but again must be very short as to not
adversely affect the measurement.
Here a possible hook-up that can be done, depending upon the fault (others can exist).
