8.10 LoopMapper™
LoopMapper™ allows the user of the CableSHARK to easily identify faults (if any) with increased resolution
using TDR and FDR. Results can be displayed in feet or meters. This test is extremely useful in locating
bridge taps (multiple appearances) and the end of the cable. Faults such as opens and shorts can easily be
found using the enhanced resolution that the CableSHARK’s integrated FDR solution offers.
8.10.1 Setting up a LoopMapper Test
From the Main Menu, pressing function button F1 (CABLE TESTS) will bring the user to the CABLE TESTS
pop-up menu. Choosing LoopMapper from the pop-up menu will invoke the LoopMapper TEST SETUP
menu. The sections that follow will explain the operation as each of the control keys is pressed and their
respective screens appear. Figure 8.10.1A below shows the LoopMapper Test Menu.
