12.2 Running a RFL Test
Once the test is set up, press the RUN/STOP key located on the front panel of the CableSHARK. A screen
similar to the screen shot below will appear.
The user is presented with the loop characteristics as entered during the setup phase as well as results in
distance and resistance for the location of the fault.

There are three parts of the circuit under test that are presented to the user. These parts are based on the
location of the CableSHARK, the location of the fault and the location of the strap. The user will be given the
following information: Distance to Fault, Distance to End, and Distance from End to Fault. The following
image shows this in more detail.
