Somevideoformatsofferinherentlyhigherperceptualqualitythanothers—for
example,inunimpairedconditions,thequalityofanHDbroadcastwillbehigherthan
thatofSD;1080pbetterthan1080ior720p;60framespersecondbetterthan30fps,
etc.VQmon/HD’sAbsoluteMOS‐Vscoretakesthesefactorsintoconsideration,and
thusprovidesanaccurateestimateof“overall”perceptualquality.
Becauseitisindependentofimageresolution/framerate,theRelativeMOS‐Vscore
helpsprovideanindicationofvideoqualityrelativetotheidealforagivenvideo
format.
